Amy McKenzie has dedicated 18 years to the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office, currently serving as the Director of Communications. In this role, she leads a team of communication professionals responsible for both internal and external communications for the DA’s Office.
Amy holds a bachelor’s degree in social work from California State University, Los Angeles, and a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership from California Baptist University.
Since 2020, Amy spearheaded the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office’s communications efforts regarding the fentanyl epidemic, establishing the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office as a pioneering government agency in the state addressing this crisis. She played a crucial role in developing the countywide “Faces of Fentanyl” campaign, which earned an Emmy and a Telly award for its impactful public service announcement video.
On a personal note, Amy experienced the loss of her sister Melanie, in 2021 due to a fentanyl-related homicide. Unfortunately, due to existing laws in California, the case was not prosecuted as a homicide.
Amy’s professional achievements and personal experiences uniquely position her as a passionate and knowledgeable advocate in the fight against the fentanyl epidemic.
